ANIMA MUNDI joins the Annecy European Animation Days and European Animation Summit 2026

ANIMA MUNDI is pleased to contribute to the Annecy European Animation Days (22–25 June 2026) and the European Animation Summit on 24 June, organised in collaboration with key European audiovisual institutions, including the European Audiovisual Observatory, Eurimages and the CNC.
Bringing together professionals, policymakers, researchers and industry organisations, the Annecy European programme provides a platform to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the animation sector in a rapidly evolving audiovisual landscape.
As part of this year’s activities, ANIMA MUNDI will contribute to several discussions focused on the future of European animation.
During the Animation in Europe General Assembly, the project will present recent developments and ongoing activities aimed at strengthening the European Animation Industry Ecosystem. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the project’s latest findings and upcoming initiatives across its research, policy and industry-oriented work.
ANIMA MUNDI will also contribute to the session Unifrance x Anima Mundi “Export of European Co-Productions”. The discussion will examine the international circulation of European animated works, drawing on recent research and bringing together professionals involved in international sales, distribution and promotion.
At a time when the sector is facing significant transformations driven by technological innovation, changing market dynamics and new audience behaviours, the Annecy Festival provides an important forum for dialogue and cooperation. Topics such as international collaboration, discoverability, financing models, sustainability and artificial intelligence remain central to ongoing reflections across the industry.
Through its participation in Annecy, ANIMA MUNDI continues to support evidence-based discussions on the future of European animation and to foster connections between research, policy and professional practice.
