Description 

A call for contributions is now open for the conference “Animation in Business/Business in Animation: Intellectual Property, Partnerships and Discoverability”. The event will take place from 20 to 22 September 2026 in Syros-Ermoupolis (Greece) at the University of the Aegean, and will be held in parallel with the Animasyros International Animation Festival. 

Co-organised by the Aegean Animation Hub in collaboration with the ANIMA MUNDI consortium, the conference will explore key transformations in the animation sector at the intersection of creativity, technology and business. It will address major challenges related to intellectual property, co-production, platformisation, audience engagement and discoverability.

The programme is structured around three main thematic areas:

• The Greek animation ecosystem within the European context
• Intellectual property, co-production and distribution dynamics
• Creativity, business models, advertising and emerging technologies such as AI and transmedia

Key dates

• 4 May 2026 – Abstract submission (max. 500 words + 5 keywords)
• Early June 2026 – Notification of acceptance
• 15 September 2026 – Full paper submission (max. 3500 words)
• 20–22 September 2026 – Conference presentations
