ANIMA MUNDI joins FILMART Hong Kong with a session on European animation in Asian markets
On 19 March 2026, ANIMA MUNDI will take part in FILMART Hong Kong, one of Asia’s leading film and television markets, with a dedicated session exploring opportunities for European animation in Asian markets.
Organised in collaboration with Bridging Visions and LMF, the panel titled “Navigating Asia: Opportunities, Partners, and Pathways for European Animation” will take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) as part of the FILMART programme.
The session will provide an overview of the Asian animation landscape and examine the potential space for European productions, with a particular focus on China, Japan, and South Korea. Using the international success of the Oscar-winning animated feature FLOW as a case study, the discussion will address strategies for market positioning, distribution challenges, and partnership opportunities between European and Asian industry actors.
Bringing together professionals from across the animation sector, the panel will feature:
- Ron Dyens, Producer, Sacrebleu Productions (France)
- Lulu Lai, Co-Founder, Zelan Animation (China)
- Noriko Matsumoto, Co-Founder, Dwarf Studio (Japan)
- Han-Dae Rhee, CEO, Sidus (South Korea)
Presented by Cristiano Bortone, Managing Director of Bridging Visions, the session will foster dialogue between European and Asian stakeholders on how to strengthen international collaboration and improve the circulation of animated works across global markets.
Through its participation at FILMART, ANIMA MUNDI continues to connect research, industry practice and international partnerships in support of a stronger and more globally visible European animation ecosystem.
