ANIMA MUNDI has entered its second year with a renewed roadmap and an intensified phase of research, pilot action and sector-wide engagement. During the consortium meeting held on 27 January 2026, partners reviewed progress and aligned on the substantial programme of work unfolding across 2026 and 2027.

The project now advances its activities across three interconnected methodological Hubs: Management of IP, Institutions, Partnerships & Promotion, and Discoverability, Audiences & Consumption. Each Hub follows a structured cycle of mapping, measuring, testing and engagement, transforming research insights into concrete tools, training programmes and policy guidance.

In the coming months, work on intellectual property will combine legal mapping, industry surveys, and international comparative research, while participatory workshops will begin to shape best-practice frameworks and future training initiatives.

At the same time, ANIMA MUNDI is strengthening its international promotion strategy, including preparations for Annecy 2026, where dedicated promotional activities will be presented.

Finally, the project expands its focus on audiences and discoverability, launching pilot labs in Asian markets, youth engagement workshops, and the first prototype of a gamification-based tool to enhance access to European animation.

With its research foundations underway, ANIMA MUNDI will also transition from analysis to action, developing practical tools and initiatives designed to strengthen Europe’s position as a global hub of creativity in animation.
