ANIMA MUNDI concludes its Set-the-Stage Workshops with European animation stakeholders
From June to September 2025, the ANIMA MUNDI consortium successfully completed its series of Set-the-Stage Workshops, marking an important step in the project’s collaborative research phase.
The first two workshops were held in person during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on 9–10 June, followed by three online sessions later in the summer. In total, eleven working groups brought together around 45 professionals from across Europe, representing a wide range of roles within the animation ecosystem, including distribution and sales agencies, production studios, broadcasters and streaming platforms, policy and funding bodies, festivals and events, creative hubs and incubators, and industry associations.
Led by the project's academic partners, the workshops were designed as open discussions guided by thematic prompts. Participants were invited to share their perspectives, experiences, and concerns on key topics such as intellectual property, discoverability, and international cooperation in the European animation ecosystem. The approach aimed to capture the lived realities and priorities of industry professionals, providing qualitative insights into current challenges and opportunities.
The findings and reflections gathered through these sessions will contribute to an upcoming ANIMA MUNDI report, informing the project’s continued research and policy recommendations for a more resilient and dynamic European Animation Industry Ecosystem.
